As the co-founder of Instant Medicals, I bring enthusiasm and passion to every task set before me. I work full time as an NHS doctor, and day-to-day, the activities I enjoy most are meeting clients of unique and varying backgrounds, talking to the drivers whom we serve, and seeing my patients take my advice onboard. Compassionate by nature, I take an interest in all my patients, and I work to understand how they can remain healthy in spite of sparse resources, long hours, heavy workloads, and sub-optimal diets. I am a natural people person, outgoing and patient-centred in my approach.
I obtained a distinction upon my graduation from medical school, and ever since then, I have reminded myself constantly of the importance of the responsibilities before me. Any issues or points of concerns that drivers bring to me I take very seriously, proffering personalised advice whilst also carrying out the mandatory medical assessment. As a clinician, I have conducted a great number of driver medical assessments and completed other work as well. I fully comprehend and appreciate how critical the integrity of the driver medical assessments that I carry out are. I aim to put my patients back on the road as quickly as I safely can. Quality, of course, always comes first.
In the long run, I have set a goal for myself to take on a leadership role in researching driver health. I believe that my experience and the knowledge I have gleaned will be useful in this area. Occupational medicine is a key interest of mine and one to which I find myself drawn towards the more I am around it.
